Information
Whilst all the documents are available on the council website, they are difficult to access and trick to work out which is which. Use the buttons below to view the files for each area of the application.
The council intended building houses here as a last resort, all other building has been done, the target is me, this isn't needed, but the planners want the profit, and to build before the new Local Plan give better locations.
See the 'artist impression' of the site, how they intend to make homes and streets less secure against the councils planning rules, how the village will provide amenities to the new development whilst getting nothing in return except extra traffic, competition for school places, noise, delayed bus services and flooding. See here for information on the types of houses that will be built, the amount of car parking being made available, all whilst claiming there will be insignificant impact on the roads. "People wont drive to work, they'll walk".
These wont be cheap houses. The council was promised £1,700,000 council tax revenue a year. For the 700 houses, that's an average of Band D. They'll release 70 houses a year to keep up 'demand' and keep prices high. If they did deliver 700 in one go, they wouldn't make enough profit.
Extensive information on how the bare minimum will be done to change the roads to allow the development, how the planners flawed assumptions have 61% of the village driving towards Kirkby to go to work, or walking/cycling to work around the village and in the industrial park. See the errors the planners 'consultants' have made being picked up by National Highways (like walking on the M57...) but not corrected. See how Knowsley Council didn't appear to bother reviewing the report, raising no issues whilst National Highways read and commented on the report highlighting many errors. (See the WPS report for National Highways.
It's wet, and to make it worse for the houses closest to Knowsley Lane, It'll be loud.
See here for reports on Bats, Nesting Birds, Precious Trees etc..
The biggest losers of this is the wildlife that thrives on the site. There will be a 5% loss in biodiversity on very generous standards, that will have to be provisioned "off site". This is a green field site - where better for biodiversity, where can they provision this 'offsite'. They will disrupt and cut apart the vital corridors the wildlife use to connect to the rest of our village, new roads and buildings will disrupt access to areas such as Snyders Grove in the heart of the village
This is not just about nature, it summaries everything from transport to schools, Schools to Visual Amenity
